(33) Acetal is a general-purpose copolymer (also available as a homopolymer – Delrin) acetal that is porosity free. The technology used in our manufacturing process ensures that every sheet and rod is free of centerline or core porosity. Acetal is easily machined with excellent dimensional stability for close tolerance parts. A low coefficient of friction and excellent wear properties, especially in wet or moist environments, make it easy to see why Acetal is one of the most widely used engineering thermoplastics available today.

(5) Acetal AF Blend AF Blend) is a special formulation of acetal blended with 13% to 20% Teflon fibers added for enhanced wear characteristics and a lower coefficient of friction. Acetal AF Blend retains approximately 90% of the strength and rigidity of acetal but with improved bearing and sliding properties. Acetal AF is fully tested and certified to meet U.S. Navy specifications for use in seals, gaskets and valve seats.
